Anneliese MacPherson is the owner and clinician at Anchored Connections. Anneliese holds a Master of Social Work Degree from Memorial University, along with two bachelor's degrees, Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Psychology, and Child/Youth studies from Mount Saint Vincent University. She is a registered private practice social worker with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (registration # 2788). Bringing 18+ years' experience working with individuals, children/youth, and families. Anneliese believes that although times maybe challenging the first step to change is the courage to reach out for help. With the right support at the right time things can and will get better.
Anneliese is passionate and always looking for evidence-based ways to help people heal and restore their connection with themselves and others. She provides creative therapeutic supports with children/youth (12+), families, and adults. Working collaboratively with appropriate professionals to provide wrap around services where possible. Anneliese's therapeutic approach is trauma informed, centered on you as a client, building on your strengths, and focusing on sustainable solutions by identifying and working on your goals. Anneliese uses wide variety of therapeutic perspectives including, restorative practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) approaches and a Somatic experiencing lens. Anneliese has various areas of practice including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, interpersonal/relationship conflict, emotional regulation, impulse control, self-esteem, parent/child relationships, life transitions and workplace stress.
To personally maintain her health and wellness, you will find Anneliese spending time with her family (husband and three kids), hiking, gardening, baking, caring for her hobby farm animals, and creating/crafting. Anneliese currently lives in East Hants, Nova Scotia.
Anneliese is accepting new clients and is ready to support you on your healing journey. Anneliese is able to provide remote online support to clients across Nova Scotia.
